Doruk Topkaya graduated from Bilkent University's Department of Architecture with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture as an Honor Student in 2021. He earned Cum Laude honors due to his academic success. With his undergraduate projects, he won three World Architecture Community Awards and received a mention in UnIATA 21. After obtaining his Bachelor's degree, he pursued an MBA from METU in 2023, specializing in Management Science and Operations Management. Currently, he is continuing his academic journey as a Master of Science candidate in the Construction Engineering and Management program at METU's Civil Engineering department. He is also a member of the alumni association of METU Development Foundation High Schools. In his professional career, Doruk had a construction internship with Limak at Kuwait International Airport in 2019. Subsequently, he joined the Yazgan Design Architecture team in 2020 and worked closely with Dr. Kerem Yazgan and Dr. Begüm Yazgan. His career at Yazgan Design Architecture began with an architectural internship, and he advanced to the position of junior architect, eventually becoming a project manager responsible for construction. Currently, Doruk is a partner in an architectural design and construction company, where he focuses on business development, construction, and architectural design. Throughout his academic and professional journey, Doruk has maintained a keen interest in extreme sports from a very young age. He started his competitive sports career at the age of 4 with water polo in METU Sports Club and continued to play for the Bilkent Tigers during his time at Bilkent University. At the age of 11, he began windsurfing in Alaçatı, where the annual world championships are organized. He has also actively participated in various social clubs, often holding the title of event organizer.
